Mark Your Calendar for Late Start Class-Level Advisories & Parent Nights

All grade levels met with the Counselors and/or College Advisors during a late start in the fall for mandatory advisory sessions. Freshmen and Sophomores have one additional advisory meeting in January, and Juniors have two advisories – one in January and one in February. These sessions are critical as we will discuss course options for next year, the process for course registration, as well as focus on college-related topics for juniors. Please plan ahead to avoid conflicts, as these sessions are mandatory.

Freshmen: Wednesday, January 15, 2025
Sophomores: Tuesday, January 21, 2025
Juniors: Thursday, January 23 & Wednesday, February 26, 2025

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the Counselors and College Advisors will host parent nights in person for Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior parents. We will provide more specific information in the next newsletters.

Freshman Parents: 5:30pm
Sophomore Parents: 6:15pm
Junior Parents: 7:00pm

Mandatory Freshman Advisory
in the Dining Hall

Our counseling curriculum now includes mandatory information sessions for each grade level. The information session for freshman will be held from 8:00 – 9:00 am in the Dining Hall. This information session is critical for incoming class, as we will be sharing detailed information about their first year in high school and all of the services that our department will be providing throughout the year. Attendance is required.

Counseling January 21, 2025 - 8:00am - 9:00am

Mandatory Sophomore Advisory
in the Dining Hall

We’ll be hosting our first Sophomore Class Advisory during our late start on Tuesday, January 21st in the Dining Hall beginning at 8:00 AM. We’ll be sharing information regarding what to expect during the year ahead. Students are asked to bring their phones and Chromebooks to sign into their Naviance account. This is mandatory and attendance will be taken.

Mandatory Junior Advisory
In the Dining Hall

Our counseling curriculum now includes mandatory information sessions for each grade level. The information session for juniors will be held from 8:00 – 9:00am in the Dining Hall. This information session is critical for Jessies, as we will be sharing detailed information about the upcoming year and all of the services that our department will be providing throughout the junior year. Attendance is required.

Freshman Parent Night Course Registration Presentation

Parents of Freshmen and Sophomores are invited to join the Counselors for in-person parent night presentations. Discussion will include course availability, prerequisites, and the course registration process, course pathways, honors and AP courses, and college information.
