St. Francis Soccer Team to be Recognized at Sacramento Republic FC Game
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis soccer team will be recognized by the Sacramento Republic FC Friday as part of their second annual Sacramento Soccer Day festivities prior to the game against English Premier club West Bromwich Albion FC on Friday, July 25 at Bonney Field.
Sacramento Soccer Day provides an opportunity to acknowledge area youth soccer exceptional achievements, with a halftime presentation of the Sacramento Spirit Award. The Troubadours will be represented by team captains Nina Madsen, Ashley Kyalwazi and Terra Carden in the pre-match activities honoring the region’s championship teams beginning at 7 p.m.
St, Francis won the Sac-Joaquin Section championship in May, earning the No. 1 ranking in the state of California and No. 17 national ranking by MaxPreps following their win. It was the 13th Sac-Joaquin Section title in school history and first since 2010. The Troubadours finished the season with a 21-3-5 overall record.
Junior Anna Gregg was the Co-Player of the Year in the Delta River League, helping St. Francis to a second-place finish behind Oak Ridge.
