MODESTO, Calif. – The St. Francis tennis team posted an 8-1 victory over Gregori of Modesto Tuesday to advance to the Sac-Joaquin Section quarterfinals for the second consecutive season. The Troubadours will face the top seed out of the Tri-City Athletic League St. Mary’s on Monday in Stockton.

St. Mary’s was a 9-0 winner over Merced in a second round match on Tuesday.

St. Francis got singles wins from sophomore Annie Gianulias and Abby Benvenuti. Gianulias, who remained undefeated on the season, won in straight sets, while Benvenuti was a winner in three 7-5, 1-6, 6-2.

Freshmen Marisa Far, Kiya and Kyla Jackson were all winners. The Troubadours also swept all three doubles matches.
