Tennis Sweeps Elk Grove in League Match 9-0
ELK GROVE, Calif. – The St. Francis tennis team swept Elk Grove 9-0 Monday in a Delta League dual match, dropping just seven games in singles and four in doubles in one of their best matches of the season.
The Troubadours got straight set wins by Avery Spector, Kyla Jackson, Kiya Jackson, Marisa Fat, Abby Benvenuti and Myra Anwar in singles.
The three doubles teams also posted convincing wins in straight sets. Annie Gianulias and Sabrina Voeller won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Megan Kahn and Eden Elliott were victorious at No. 2. Cameron Parra and Stephanie Fong clinched the sweep with a 6-1, 6-o win at No. 3 doubles.
St. Francis (6-0) improved to 3-0 in league play. The Troubies travel to Sheldon on Wednesday before hosting Davis on Thursday at Rio del Oro Racquet Club.
