Mr. Thomas Edward Slabaugh was appointed as the new Director of Bands at St. Francis Catholic High School in November 2024. His background includes a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from California State University, Sacramento, and he is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Instrumental Conducting at the University of Washington. In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Slabaugh holds a California State Professional Clear Single Subject Teaching Credential in Music and a CLAD Certificate for English learner authorization.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Mr. Slabaugh spent 14 years as the Director of Bands and Mariachi at Davis Senior High School, where he founded Mariachi del Valle, the first school-class mariachi ensemble in Davis. Additionally, Mr. Slabaugh has served in key roles at the University of California, Davis, including Director of the California Aggie Marching Band and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Music.
