Dear St. Francis Families,
Next Friday, October 4th, we celebrate the feast of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi. This humble and devoted man revitalized the Church when he chose to follow Jesus’ teachings as closely as possible. Despite the challenges he faced, St. Francis never wavered in his radical demonstration of love for God and love for others. Last year, Troubies made dedicated efforts to follow his example by contributing over 22,000 hours of service to those in need. We have our first service deadline just a few weeks (October 18, 2024). Our service requirements act as reminders of our responsibility to assist those in need. His legacy of serving the marginalized and recognizing the beauty of our Earth inspires our school community to strive to emulate his life.
This year’s St. Francis Day theme recognizes our 85th anniversary: Celebrating Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment. As such, we are asking students to come to school dressed as women who inspire them. These iconic female figures can be real women who’ve changed the world through their activism, craft, political contribution, deep faith, or other superpower. These inspirational ladies can be women they know, historical figures, or even fictional characters. The point of this theme is to showcase the talents, contributions, and limitless potential of women. Advanced thank you to everyone who makes this celebration possible through their donations and service.

The time has flown by and I can’t believe I am already in my third year here at St. Francis! Time has gone by so fast and I’ve loved every minute of it.
It is an exciting time of the year for Fall Athletics as all sports are now in league play and looking to see where they stack up in the mighty Sierra Foothill League (SFL.) This year, all 13 of our sports programs have moved into this league, which is made up of the strongest athletic programs in the greater Sacramento area and is considered one of the strongest leagues in all of California. Our Athletics Department is proud and excited to join a league with such high level programs. The strong competition will undoubtedly help boost the strength of our programs overall. Please see the Fall Athletics Update below for more detailed news for each sport. Reference our teams schedules on GoTroubies.com and attend some fall sports events.
Flag Football has their Booster BBQ on Thursday, September 19th vs Granite Bay. Make sure to come out and grab some food and cheer them on. The JV game starts at 4pm and Varsity at 5pm on the grass field at St. Francis.
Lastly, our Troubie Spirit Store is up and running so make sure to check it out. Get your favorite Troubie athletics gear to show off at the next event or get some for friends and family. Remember to show off that Troubie spirit by being loud, proud and positive. See you in the stands soon!
I encourage all of you to keep up with all of our sports updates by visiting our school website and going to GoTroubies.com.

Dear St. Francis Families,
I would like to thank all of the parents and family members that attended Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 27th. It was nice seeing our school community present and committed to educating our young women. The parental support and participation during our school functions reflect what it means to be a member of the St. Francis Community. Parents (and even grandparents!) are invited back to campus for our beloved Meet a Parent for Lunch days on September 11th/13th. This biannual event is a favorite among our students and we love sharing campus with our families.
Also, as we prepare for the three-day Labor Day Holiday, I hope you enjoy the holiday with your family and cherish the quality time you spend together. If you’re traveling this weekend, be safe and we’ll be waiting for you on Tuesday, September 3rd.
On this holiday weekend, when we get to rest from our usual labors, I ask that we pray for those that will continue to shoulder the burden of human labor. I also thank you Lord for the gift and opportunity of work; may our efforts always be pure of heart, for the good of others and the glory of your name.
St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
