Holy Court Ticket Information
Holy Court volleyball game against Christian Brothers is Thursday, Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m. The Frosh game is first followed by the Junior Varsity (5:30 p.m.) and Varsity (6:30 p.m.). Tickets are $5 plus a $1 service charge. There are a limited number of tickets available for St. Francis students.

Troubie Takeover at the Causeway Cup
DAVIS, Calif. – The UC Davis women’s soccer team posted a 2-1 victory over Sacramento State on Monday in the annual Causeway Cup matchup between the programs in a match that featured three former St. Francis Troubadours and a fourth waiting for her opportunity.
“It felt really good,” said Aggie junior Andi Damian ’13 of the win. “It is good to keep that going for us.”
The game featured Damian, senior Hayley Hughes ’12 and Sacramento State junior Jennifer Lum ’12. Freshman Allie Carmickle ’15 is a reserve goalkeeper for the Aggies.

Tennis Sisters to Play at USTA National Championship
ELK GROVE, Calif. – Sophomores Kiya and Kyla Jackson were part of the Laguna Creek Racquet Club’s Coed 18 & Under Intermediate team that captured the Northern California championship title at this year’s USTA Northern California Junior Team Tennis Summer Coed Section Championships on August 1-2 in Elk Grove.
“I think it was pretty cool because we had home court advantage,” said Kiya. “When you were playing, everyone was watching us in center court. Our doubles match was the deciding match.”

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis volleyball program has 18 alumnae on collegiate rosters this fall across all NCAA Divisions. Pepperdine standout Gabi Palmeri leads a talented group of players taking the court this season after starring for Head Coach Alynn Wright and St. Francis.
Several programs have become popular destinations for the Troubies especially in California.
Twelve Alumnae Playing NCAA Soccer
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – NCAA Soccer teams across the country start their 2015 seasons this week and there are 12 Troubadour alumnae soccer players on rosters this season: Catie Brown ’15 (SMU), Terra Carden ’14 (Pacific), Allie Carmickle ’15 (UC Davis), Katie Clark ’12 (U.S. Coast Guard Academy), Izzi Chelini ’15 (Cal Lutheran), Andrea Damian ’13 (UC Davis), Emily Egan ’14 (Georgia Southern), Anna Gregg ’15 (Colorado College), Haley Hughes ’12 (UC Davis), Madison Kimball ’15 (Loyola Chicago), Jennifer Lum ’12 (Sacramento State) and Addie Wallace ’15 (Villanova).
Former Collegiate Basketball Coach and AD Morrison Speaks to Athletics Department
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Former college basketball coach and athletic director Stan Morrison was the keynote speaker for the St. Francis athletics department retreat in August 2015. Morrison started his coaching career at El Camino High School before embarking on a career that would include head coaching jobs at Pacific, USC, San Jose State Basketball coach and as the AD at both UC Santa Barbara and UC Riverside.
Morrison had several messages for the Troubadour coaches intertwined among his tremendous coaching experiences and stories that highlighted his talking points.
Volleyball Player Abby Fitzgerald Named Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Student of the Year
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rising senior Abby Fitzgerald was named the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Greater Sacramento Area Chapter 2015 Student of the Year this summer. She received the award at the Grand Finale Gala at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento on June 20 along with fundraising partner Maverick Kuhn of Jesuit High School.
“It was so awesome (to be recognized),” said Fitzgerald, who is from Sacramento. “We put a lot of hard work and time into it and it paid off.”
Water Polo Standout Charter Named to All-America Team
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Former St. Francis water polo standout Lauren Charter ‘15 was named to the 2014-15 NISCA/Speedo Girls All-America Water Polo third team.
Charter scored a team-best 55 goals and 78 points to lead the Troubadours to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Division I finals for the third consecutive season in 2014. A three-time USA Water Polo Academic All-American, she earned all-section and All-Delta League first-team honors and finished her career with 109 career goals.
Swimmer Mitchell Named to NISCA/Speedo All-America Team
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rising senior Chloe Mitchell has been named to the NISCA/Speedo Girls High School All-America team in the 500 freestyle. She placed 89th overall in the event with her personal-best time from the Sac-Joaquin Section Championships.
Gregg Named to TopDrawerSoccer.com Spring All-America Second Team
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Anna Gregg, a 2015 graduate of St. Francis, was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Spring All-America Second Team, as announced on the website. Gregg will play soccer on scholarship at Colorado College this fall.
Gregg led St. Francis to Sac-Joaquin Section final on May 17. She scored a Delta League best 32 goals on the season in 2015 with a league-best 72 points. She also recorded eight assists, the second-best total in the league. The Folsom product recorded three or more goals four times season and recorded 12 multi-goal games during season.
Anderson Named to US Lacrosse All-Academic Team
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rising senior Meg Anderson has been named to the 2015 US Lacrosse All-Academic team.
Anderson, who is from Penn Valley, scored 10 goals on the season and was named to the Sacramento Lacrosse Conference second team. She has a 4.33 grade point average.
St. Francis Finishes Second in Delta League All-Sports Award
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis athletic department finished second overall in the Delta League Girls All-Sports Award standings recognizing the top girls and boys athletic programs.
The Troubadours won or shared two league titles during the 2014-15 inaugural season of the reformatted league Delta League that included Davis, Franklin, Elk Grove, Grant, Pleasant Grove, Monterey Trail and Pleasant Grove.
2015 Diving Season Highlights
- Freshman Julia Coss competed at the first CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships held at Clovis West High School and finished 22nd overall.
- Coss finished third and earned a berth in the first CIF State Diving Championships to be held May 22 at Clovis West High School. She was one of five divers who competed at the Sac-Joaquin Section finals Saturday at Buchanan High School, the most of any school in the section.
2015 Swimming Highlights
- Juniors Emily Peters and Chloe Mitchell both qualified for the first CIF State Championships and the St. Francis swimming team placed fourth overall in the varsity meet at the Sac-Joaquin Section Swimming Championships held at Tokay High School.
- Peters swam in the 50-meter freestyle and clocked a time of 24.24 to finish 22nd overall.
- Peters qualified to swim at the first CIF state championships in the 50 freestyle after her sixth-place finish in time of 24.29.
Alumna Robinson Named St. Francis Head Soccer Coach
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Alumna Maryclaire Robinson will take over the St. Francis soccer program full time in 2016 after serving as the interim head coach for the 2015 season, Athletic Director Mark McGreevy announced.
Three Softball Players Named to Sacramento Bee All-Metro Squad
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior outfielder Danika Bailey was among three players named to the Sacramento Bee All-Metro team. Bailey, a first-team selection, joined All-Metro honorable mention selections junior Mel Baccay and sophomore Rhyann O’Mara on the team announced by the newspaper.
Six Players Earn Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Honors
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Ryleigh Bone was named to the 2015 Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Conference first team as voted by the coaches. She was one of five Troubadours selected for recognition by the coaches.
Bone, who is from Granite Bay, was second on the team with 35 goals, nine assists and 44 points. She scored in 13 of 17 contests played and recorded two or more goals in 10 games. She notched a season-best five goals two times (Palo Alto, Oak Ridge). She signed to play lacrosse at Fresno State.
2015 Lacrosse Highlights
- St. Francis finished the season with a 7-10 overall record and 4-6 overall in the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League (fourth). The Troubadours finished the season ranked No. 20 in the North Coast Section and No. 7 in Division I by LaxPower.
- St. Francis placed six players on the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Conference All-League team, including first-team selections Ryleigh Bone for the second consecutive season.
- Bone, who is from Granite Bay, was second on the team with 35 goals, nine assists and 44 points.
