Soccer Alumna Gregg Named World University Games Participant
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Alumna Anna Gregg ’14 will represent Colorado College and the United States at the 2015 World University Games in Gwangju, Korea, from July 3-14.
The 20 players competing as Team USA in Gwangju, Korea, are a collection of current, former and future Tigers, including 10 who helped CC advance to the 2013 NCAA Tournament after claiming the Conference USA regular-season and tournament championships. Eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens who are current athletes or recent graduates, born between Jan. 1, 1990, and Dec. 31, 1997.
Basketball Alumna Limcaco Graduates from Menlo College
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Jolise Limcaco ’11 recently graduated from Menlo College with a degree in Accounting and already has an offer to work at Frank Rimerman + Co. LLP after she graduates due to her exceptional job as an intern. She was a member of the Student Athletes Leadership Committee (SALC) the past two years and worked for the athletic department in her free time.
Senior Peyton Bilo Sets PR in Final Race, Finishes 12th in 3200 Meters at States
CLOVIS, Calif. – Senior Peyton Bilo ran a personal-best 10:31.67 to finish 12th at the CIF State Track and Field Championships Saturday night. Bilo, who is from Elk Dorado Hills, also placed 14th in the 1600m on Friday night.
“It feels so amazing running under the lights and hearing my parents and friends cheering me on,” said Bilo, who reset her personal-best by 13 seconds. “It was great to have them push me right around the track.”
2015 Basketball Highlights
St. Francis advanced to the quarterfinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs, losing to eventual state champion St. Mary’s. The Troubadours defeated Bella Vista in the opening round and posted 20 wins on the season, the most for the program since the 2011 season.
Overall, the team went 9-5 in Delta League action, finishing third overall in the standings.
Arndt Closes Junior Season; Finishes 16th at State in 800m
CLOVIS, Calif. – St. Francis senior Ariane Arndt closed out her junior season with a 16th-place finish in one of the fastest 800 meters in state history. She clocked the second-best time of her career, crossing the line in 2:11.06 but failed to advance to the finals on Saturday.
“I was real surprised (with the first lap),” said Arndt, who set the school record this year at 2:10.05. “It was really fast. I tried to hang on the best I could. I am a little sad that I died so hard at the end. It is ok and I gave my all. It is a learning process for next year.”
Senior Peyton Bilo Places 14th in the 1600 Meter Prelims at CIF State Champs
CLOVIS, Calif. – Senior Peyton Bilo finished 14th in the prelims of the 1600 meters Friday night, posting a time of 4:56.46. She was sixth in her heat and just two spots out of the final. The top four finishers in each heat and next four fastest times advanced.
“I felt pretty good,” said Bilo after her race. “It went out slower than I expected. When the girls turned it on with 700 to go, I did not feel like I had as strong of a kick in me as them. Compared to my individual performances, I had a good kick but those girls can just whip out a sub-70 last lap.”
Arndt Starts Bid for State Championship Friday
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis junior Ariane Arndt will run in the 800 meters at the CIF State Track and Field Championships Friday night. It will be her second consecutive appearance at the state meet in the 800m.
“I learned that it is just another race,” said Arndt. “I try to treat it like any other race even though there is a big crowd. I just want to perform my best.”
St. Francis Alumna Calderon Represents Mexico in World Cup
Moncton, CANADA – St. Francis alumna Ariana Calderon made the Mexican national team for the upcoming Women’s World Cup in Canada but a recent injury will keep her on the sideline.
“Due to my injury, I will not be playing in the World Cup this year,” said Calderon on Instagram Thursday night. “I gave it everything I had, but it was not in God’s plan. Thank you to those who reached out and (have) given me strength during this time. I wish my teammates the best of luck. I can’t wait to get back in the Mexico jersey.”
Track Senior Peyton Bilo Caps Senior Season with State Championships
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A year ago, St. Francis senior Peyton Bilo was in a boot watching from the stands as her teammates qualified a school-best six athletes for the state meet. Her career path was undecided after being sidelined for most of her junior campaign and the future uncertain. Everything changed this year.
Troubie Trio Help Gonzaga at NCAA Rowing
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Cherie Murbach ’14, Heather Handy ‘14 and Madeleine Vespieren ‘12 competed for Gonzaga in the NCAA Rowing Championships held on Lake Natoma this past weekend.
Murbach, who competed in water polo and track at St. Francis, Handy (golf) and Vespieren (tennis) were on the Second Varsity 8 for the Zags and helped the team to a 17th-place overall finish. It was the second NCAA appearance in school history after the team won the West Coast Conference title.
Arndt, Bilo Qualify for CIF State Championships
ELK GROVE, Calif. – St. Francis advanced two athletes in three events Friday night to next week’s state championships at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters meet at Elk Grove High School Friday night.
Junior Ariane Arndt continued her dominant season in the 800 meters, winning the Masters title for the second consecutive season. She posted the top time in the section this season, clocking a 2:10.05 at the Arcadia Invitational. She won nine individual 800 races this season.
Track and Field Sets Stage for Friday’s Finals
ELK GROVE, Calif. – Junior Ariane Arndt and senior Sydney Hunter both advanced in their signature events and 4×100-meter relay reached the finals at the Sac-Joaquin Section Master’s meet, setting up an exciting Friday night. The top three in each event advance to the CIF State Championships June 5-6 in Fresno.
Arndt won her heat of the 800m in 2:15.98 to advance to Friday’s final. She had the second-best time behind Kendall Derry of Bella Vista and her season-best clocked at the Arcadia Invitational ranks among the top-10 in the nation.
Soccer’s Gregg Adds League Player of the Year Honor

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Anna Gregg was named the Player of the Year in the Delta League, earning league player of the year for second straight season.
She helped St. Francis to a third-place finish and runner-up section finish. She was also named the River Cats Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Gregg led the Delta League with 32 goals (T54 in nation) in 2015 with a league-best 72 points (T65 in nation). She also recorded eight assists, the second-best total in the league.
Peters and Coss Compete at First CIF State Meet
FRESNO, Calif. – Junior Emily Peters and freshman Julia Coss competed at the first CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships held at Clovis West High School Friday.
Peters swam in the 50-meter freestyle and clocked a time of 24.24 to finish 22nd overall, while Coss was 22nd overall in the diving competition contested Friday morning.

11 Troubaours Receive Local Honor
The Sacramento River Cats recognized their 2014-15 All-City team before today’s baseball game. Eleven Troubadours were selected to the respective sports all-city teams and senior soccer player Anna Gregg was named the River Cats Girls Soccer Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Track and Field Wins Third Straight Section Title
ELK GROVE, Calif. – The St. Francis track and field team recorded a team effort throughout the meet Friday night and posted a comeback win to claim their third straight Sac-Joaquin Section title. The Troubadours are the first Division I team to win three consecutive titles since West won three straight from 2003-05.
“It is an amazing night for the history of St. Francis,” said Head Coach Randall Fairchild. “It was a well-rounded team effort and everyone contributed.”
Swimming and Diving Banquet Recap
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis swimming and diving teams celebrated their season with an end-of-year banquet Wednesday following finals.
2015 Softball Highlights
- The St. Francis softball team advanced to the double-elimination second round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Playoffs. The Troubadours opened with a 9-7 win over McClatchy before losing to Bella Vista (12-8) and River City (8-4). Overall, St. Francis went 16-14 and 9-5 in the Delta League to finish third overall.
- Senior Danika Bailey was named the Delta League Co-Player of the Year. The Cal signee hit a league-best .642, an average that ranked among the Top 100 players in the country and fifth-best in the section, with a .660 average in league play.
Hunter Breaks 400m School Record at Sac-Joaquin Sections
ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior Sydney Hunter broke the 400 meter school record with a personal-best 55.88 as St. Francis advanced four finalists and both relays at the first night of the Sac-Joaquin Section track and field championships at Elk Grove High School.
