Spring Conditioning/Tryout Information

Spring sports start on Feb. 8 for the sports of lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving and track and field. Please have your daughter’s current physical on file with the athletic department to insure her participation in the first day of tryouts. The physical must be on the form on the school website. You can find it here.

DIVING: Practice starts on February 15: 3:00-4:30 p.m. at Capital Diving. Workouts the rest of the season (2/22-4/27) will be M/W/F from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

2015 Lacrosse Highlights

  • St. Francis finished the season with a 7-10 overall record and 4-6 overall in the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League (fourth). The Troubadours finished the season ranked No. 20 in the North Coast Section and No. 7 in Division I by LaxPower.
  • St. Francis placed six players on the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Conference All-League team, including first-team selections Ryleigh Bone for the second consecutive season.
  • Bone, who is from Granite Bay, was second on the team with 35 goals, nine assists and 44 points.

Six Players Earn Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Honors

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Ryleigh Bone was named to the 2015 Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Conference first team as voted by the coaches. She was one of five Troubadours selected for recognition by the coaches.

Bone, who is from Granite Bay, was second on the team with 35 goals, nine assists and 44 points. She scored in 13 of 17 contests played and recorded two or more goals in 10 games. She notched a season-best five goals two times (Palo Alto, Oak Ridge). She signed to play lacrosse at Fresno State.

Former Lacrosse Standout Lands Nebraska Marketing Position

LINCOLN, Neb. – MacKenzie Campbell ’14 recently accepted a paid internship with the University of Nebraska Huskers Marketing department. She was selected for one of seven positions out  of more than 100 applicants and was one of only two freshmen and the only freshman girl. She will be coordinating the marketing for the Huskers nationally-ranked volleyball team, nationally-ranked women’s gymnastics and men’s gymnastics teams this fall. She also will be working events for the football and game day on the field.

Lacrosse Posts 17-5 Win over Bella Vista

FAIR OAKS, Calif. – Ryleigh Bone and Hayley Kusserow each scored three goals and Megan Hoffeditz, Maggie Anderson and Colleen McClain added two goals as St. Francis lacrosse posted a 17-5 win over Bella Vista.

Meg Anderson and Juliette Vielhauer added goals in the win for the Troubadours.

St. Francis closes the regular season with three consecutive home games at Mather Sports Complex starting with a 7:30 contest against Casa Roble on Thursday night.

Lacrosse Falls to Granite Bay

GRANITE BAY, Calif. – Senior Colleen McClain scored three goals and senior Ryleigh Bone and junior Erica Palmer each added two but St. Francis fell to Granite Bay 19-7 Friday night.

St. Francis returns to action on Tuesday at Bella Vista before ending the regular season on a three-game homestand at Mather Sports Complex.

Lacrosse Posts Shutout over Casa Roble

ORANGEVALE, Calif. – Senior Colleen McClain and freshman Juliette Vielhauer each scored three goals as St. Francis posted a 15-0 victory over Casa Roble on Friday night.

Vielhauer, who entered the game with four goals on the season, tallied her best game as a Troubadour with three goals, while McClain’s three scores were a season-high. Hayley Kusserow and Maggie Anderson each added two goals, while the Troubies got single goals by five players. Meg Anderson, Emily Bush, Megan Hoffeditz, Ryleigh Bone and Grace Passantino.

Lacrosse Falls to Oak Ridge

EL DORADO, Calif. – Ryleigh Bone scored five goals but the Troubadours lacrosse team fell at Oak Ridge 18-8 on Thursday. It was the second five-goal game of the season for Bone, who participated in a signing ceremony earlier in the day. Erica Palmer added two goals and Colleen McClain also scored for the St. Francis (4-6). The Troubadours travel to Casa Roble on Thursday for a game at 6:30 p.m.

Lacrosse Opens League Play with Win

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis lacrosse team opened Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League play with a 19-5 win over Bella Vista Tuesday night.

“It felt really good not only because the defense really picked it up but the offense held the team,” said senior goalie Maddie Merwin of the second half shutout. “We ran our plays and did really well working together as a team.”

Lacrosse Falls to Amador Valley 14-8

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis lacrosse team lost a 14-8 game to Amador Valley Saturday at the Mather Sports Complex.

Senior Hayley Kusserow scored three times for the Troubadours but had a hard time containing senior Jackie Gilbert, a USC commit, who scored nine goals in the game.

Amador Valley, ranked as the No. 5 team in Division I in California by LaxPower and one of the Best of the West by US Lacrosse, also got two goals by Sadie Grozier.

Lacrosse Wins Battle of St. Francis

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – Senior Hayley Kusserow scored six goals to lead St. Francis to a win over St. Francis Mountain View Tuesday night.

The Troubadours (3-3) also got three goals by senior Ryleigh Bone and two each by sophomore Sarah Westover and junior Erika Palmer. Maggie Anderson and Colleen McClain also found the net in the winning effort.

St. Francis built a 9-6 at the half and held on with six second-half goals to post their second consecutive victory in the Bay area. The Troubadours posted a 22-20 win at Palo Alto on Saturday.

Lacrosse Wins Bay Road Trip Finale at Palo Alto

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Senior Hayley Kusserow scored seven goals as St. Francis pulled out a 22-20 win over Palo Alto to close out their two-game Bay area road trip.

Kusserow was one of four players with multiple goals in the game. Kusserow, who has signed to play at St. Mary’s next season, tied a career-high with seven goals. She also notched seven goals against Redwood during her junior season. Colleen McClain had three goals and Erica Palmer and Emily Bush also contributed scored.

Lacrosse Falls to Cal’s Second-Half Surge

MATHER, Calif. – Cal High scored 15 second-half goals to break open a close game and post a 19-11 win over St. Francis Tuesday night at Mather Sports Complex.

St. Francis (1-2) led 6-4 at the break behind three first-half goals by senior Hayley Kusserow. But the Grizzles rallied in the second half, scoring three quick goals to take a 7-6 lead.

Junior Meg Anderson scored the first of her four goals in the second half to briefly tie the game at 7. But Cal responded during a man advantage and quickly built its lead.

Lacrosse Defeats Foothill 8-7

PLEASONTON, Calif. – St. Francis senior Hayley Kusserow scored late to take an 8-7 victory over Foothill Tuesday night. Five Troubadours scored in the game, including two each by Meg Anderson, Colleen McClain and Kusserow. Maggie Anderson and Erika Palmer also scored for St. Francis (1-1).

The Troubadours trailed 4-3 at the break but fought back to tie the game at 7 before scoring the game-winner in the final minutes.

St. Francis hosts Cal next Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Mather Sports Complex.

Lacrosse Drops Season Opener to San Ramon Valley

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sophomore Sarah Westover scored three goals but the St. Francis lacrosse team dropped its season opener 20-5 to San Ramon Valley Saturday at Mather Sports Complex.

“We have a lot of individual talent that is learning to work together to be successful this season,” said Head Coach Spenser Brown. “They are getting used to each other and they are on their way to syncing up.”

Westover scored twice and senior Colleen McClain scored as the Troubies fell behind 8-3.
