Junior Anna Gregg Records Goal and Two Assists in Win

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Anna Gregg had a goal and two assists to lead St. Francis to a 3-1 victory over El Camino Tuesday afternoon.

“The first half was a little rough and a slow start,” said Gregg. “We picked it up in the second half and pulled out the victory.”

St. Francis improved to 5-0-1 on the season.

Senior Terra Carden scored for the second consecutive game on an assist from Gregg to open the scoring 10 minutes into the game. El Camino answered three minutes later on a goal by Jaqui Ortega to tie the game at 1.

Soccer Wins Cal Spring Classic on Penalty Kicks

WOODLAND, Calif. – Junior Raegan Jobe converted the winning penalty kick to help St. Francis post a victory over Whitney in the championship game of the Cal Spring Classic Saturday night. The Troubadours had a 3-2 advantage in the penalty kicks to capture the title.

“It was great,” said Jobe after the game. “I was a little nervous but I tried to stay calm. It is a good way to start the season and gives us confidence that we can succeed.”

Soccer Wins Both Games at Woodland Spring Classic

WOODLAND, Calif. – Trinity Connaughton scored on an assist by Alex Vergera to give St. Francis a 2-1 victory over Napa in rainy and wet conditions at the Spring Classic at Woodland Sports Complex Friday night.

“It was exciting,” said Connaughton. “Alex crossed it in and I was there waiting. I just kicked it in. It was so awesome and exciting. I was so happy I could do it for the team.”

Six St. Francis Seniors Make Commitments

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Six St. Francis High School seniors signed a National Letter-of-Intent or made a commitment to play collegiate sports next year at schools across the country Wednesday.

They were recognized on campus after school and will be part of the school’s formal spring signing day recognition. Overall, 24 Troubadours have made commitments this year to continue their athletic careers next year at the collegiate level.

#FeatureFriday: St. Francis Athletics Adds Ketcham as Assistant AD for Sports Medicine

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Bumps and bruises are her specialty but Kelly Ketcham brings much more to the St. Francis High School community.

Ketcham was named the Assistant AD for Sports Medicine for the St. Francis Athletics Department staff recently after working with the Troubadour student-athletes and teams as the school’s athletic trainer for the last four years. The title was effective in November 2013.

2009 Soccer Season Highlights

Our St. Francis Troubadours have been named the 2009 Girls State Team of the Year for soccer with a record of 20-0-3. Our Troubies captured their sixth section championship in the last seven years with a 3-1 victory over St. Mary’s of Stockton in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I finals. Junior Hannah Keane scored two goals in the championship win over the Rams to cement St. Francis’ status as the top team from California and a No. 4 ranking in the end of the season ESPN RISE FAB 50 national rankings.

Soccer Tryout Information

  • Closed tryouts – no parents
  • Wear white T-shirt with first and last name written on front and back of T-shirt. Write w Black Sharpie.  Please make legible and write BIG so coaches can read easily.
  • All players must bring a ball to tryouts
  • All players must bring water bottle
  • All players must have physical on file to participate
  • Tryouts start at 3:30pm-5:30pm. Monday, 2/4, all students report to SF Field to be assigned a tryout number. Freshman will then move to Kit Carson.ALL Goalies at SF Field.
